About The Gardens
The Trent Market Garden is a student run experimental farm funded and ran through the SAFS Society established in 2015. Located on campus behind the DNA building, the farm is available for student visits, volunteers, and viewing all year round. Through providing work opportunities to students, experimental growing supports education in the agro-ecological and horticultural fields that contribute to environmental preservation and food security.

The TMG supports many of the events run by SAFSS throughout the school year including providing produce for free student markets, and offering hands on community service learning opportunities. This space provides a place for students to reconnect with their local food system and learn about the realities of food growth Ontario , both admirable and challenging!
What the TMG offers
Work Oppourtunities
Summer & Fall work
Summer and fall are the busiest season for the TMG, requiring lots of reliable hands. Multiple positions are offered throughout these seasons to provide students with applicable experience in the agricultural field while learning and applying what they have learnt in their academics, in the field.
Student Benefits
Funded events, Conferences
& Seminars
Keep an eye out for event posting and opportunities! The TMG and SAFSS offer many events that are free or discounted for students to give back to the very people that support us. The TMG is fully for students, by students.
Contributions to surrounding ecosystems
Ecologically mindful growing
Focusing on the "sustainability" in SAFS, the TMG aims to find and try out new methods of growing, pest management, fertilization, and distribution that reduces harmful impacts on our local environment and food system.
